I think back to the Old Testament to a lady named Esther. Her "perhaps" was possibly one of the most revolutionary of all time. In verse 14b of chapter 4, it says, " Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created."
Wow! She had a great call on her life. She was to save the Jewish people from annihilation. It was not very common for a woman to be used in such a big way in that day. God had something mighty for her to do, though, and she said "Yes".
Let's take a moment to ask ourselves the same question. Could this perhaps be the moment for which we have been created? If so, are we using our moment (the moment of all moments!) to the best of our ability?
My heart thrills when I think back over the last 20 or so years. I recall sitting in church in the spring of 1995, listening to the sermon. Then, I heard it. He spoke directly to me. Jesus told me He had plans for me and a future and a hope. He wanted to prosper me, not harm me. I told Him I was willing to do whatever it was that He wanted me to do. It took a very long time. I had some discouraging days. It seemed (most of the time) that maybe I had dreamed it all up in my head.
He kept His word to me, though. He is opening doors for me to speak. He is using me at the school where I teach, through leading Bible Studies and prayer times. He formed the Broken Hearts Healing Hearts Retreats and keeps them going.
I am so unworthy and incapable of doing anything for my Savior, but because of Him and His righteousness, I can do whatever He calls me to. Let's all step into living out what we were created to do! What an awesome way to live!
